Your home is the biggest purchase you ever make
Since you bought your home to live in for a number of years, you want it to look its best.
Flooring is an important consideration.
Home is where the flooring is, and home is the one place you find peace and tranquility. For some, looking at floors that have seen their day, first placed years ago, can take away from the enjoyment of owning a home. Flooring is far more important than many people realize. In fact, it is one of the first things a potential buyer will look at when you have your house on the market.
Homes are not just about flooring alone. They are a reflection of the people living there. Accordingly, you want the best-looking possible decor. You want compatible colors and/or wallpaper throughout the house, perhaps matching the furniture and the ambiance you wish to create. Think what the overall effect would be if the flooring was retro 1930s and the decor was 21st century.
Flooring sets the tone of each room in your home. If you want to change flooring in each room, you have the freedom of creativity to do so. Consider hardwood for the living and dining room, marble for the bathroom, rubber flooring for the kids play area and ceramic for the kitchen. It all depends on what kind of mood you want for each room. Decide what works for your imagination, figure out a budget, shop online and in person and stop by your local Tampa flooring contractor to see what they recommend. It’s time well spent.
Lighter-colored flooring makes a room look larger, while darker planking or other floor coverings, shrinks the room. If you have high-traffic areas to worry about with the kids and pets, then stick with a flooring that is not only durable, but does not show too much dirt. As an alternative, you could always opt to use runners to protect the floor or carpet.
The choices on the market in terms of flooring are so diverse, even if you are a dedicated go-green kind of person, there are flooring choices just for you such as reclaimed barn wood or bamboo. If you plan to do something different, just do the research first before investing your money in a floor choice you might not like once it is installed. You may even decide that since flooring comes in far more colors than it used to, to opt for colored flooring instead of carpets. The nice thing about shopping for floors for your home is the wide variety of choices.
And, if you are worried that wood may make a room look smaller, you’ll be happy to know that it actually makes it look bigger. This is due to the way the wood is cut, but also a result of how it is laid in longer lines across a floor. If you want the visual effect of a larger room, try wood flooring, as it widens and lengthens a room.
