Cheap is not always good when it comes to tile
Inexpensive tile saves money on your budget. However, it may not last as long as you would like.
It’s never a good idea to cut corners too much when it comes to buying Tampa flooring tile for you home upgrade. This isn’t to say it may not be a steal of a deal, but when it comes right down to it, it won’t last as long as you want and you’ll be replacing it sooner than later. That means you haven’t really saved any money at all, just delayed the re-install a few years and then you need to put more cash out to fix or upgrade the floor again.
Another thing many do when it comes to selecting tile for their next home renovation project is choose discontinued tiles. Those typically come in at a really nice price, and are often high caliber, high quality tiles that will last longer and look good. However, check the bargain bin, because you will also find every day, not so wonderful tiles in the mixture as well. If you get lucky and find discounted marble, granite or limestone tiles, you’ve hit pay dirt and your budget will love you.
Certainly buying discontinued, quality tiles is a smart way to go, but be aware there are a couple of things you should know before buying them. The first thing is discontinued actually means no more tile like the one you are planning to buy will come on the market any time soon. So, what you see is what you get, and what you get will be all that you can get.
If the tiles are neutral enough to go anywhere and look good for years, this isn’t a drawback if you take care of them. However, if the discounted tiles are an interesting, brash shade of red or perhaps green, you might want to rethink buying them, unless you don’t mind replacing them in a few years when you tire of the color or a new color trend hits the market.
You may also get lucky on a hunt to try and match existing tiles in your home; the ideal solution to do the flooring in that laundry room extension you have been planning for years. The bonus here is that what you find should match flooring already down, making the job that much easier.
Or, you might only need a few replacement tiles to take care of the flooring you have right now. It might not be damaged now, but you can’t predict if it will be blemish free in the years to come. Pick up extra tiles for the “what if” things that happen in the life of your flooring.
