Champion Tile Suggests Trying Marble When Replacing Hardwood Floors
One of the best choices to give a home a new look is Tampa marble. The house will look decidedly elegant.
“For homeowners who want to do something different with their existing flooring and they happen to have hardwood, a good upgrade is switching to marble. It beats the old, chipped and scarred flooring. When floors get old, they often can’t be repaired, so that’s something to keep in mind when making your flooring decision. It doesn’t have to be an expensive choice either,” said Dean Dupre, who runs Champion Tile, a Clearwater Flooring, Tampa Flooring, and tile installation company.
Marble tiles really have just about everything going for them; style, class, elegance, variety, durability, endless colors and designs. That’s pretty hard to beat when it comes to making choices. “For instance, marble tiles may be smooth or rough and come with a pattern. Some even have hand painted designs. The fancier the tile, the more expensive, but that’s a purely personal preference. You will also want to think carefully about what you choose, as the choice will affect how your room looks,” Dupre said.
Imagination is a grand thing when it comes to choosing tiles for the home. Let it run wild and come up with something different for the kitchen. “There are so many choices out there, you could have every room done in something different, not that I’m recommending you do that, as it would be overkill, but the point is that you have a great variety of things to choose from to suit your tastes,” Dupre said.
When shopping around for the right tile to suit a theme or idea for the home, try hardware stores, on the Internet, contact a local flooring contractor or even try a department store. Go with a set of measurements in hand, as tiles are generally sold by the square foot.
“Don’t guess at the size of area you will be working with, because nine times out of ten, you get it wrong and won’t be happy to have to make another trip to get more tiles. If they’re sold out, that won’t make your day either,” Dupre said. If anything, try to order more than may be needed, as chances are there may be chipped or cracked ones, or during installation something bad happens.
“If you’re going to do it yourself, then stick to the old adage of, ‘Measure twice, cut once,’ and all will be well,” Dupre said.
