Granite or Marble Countertops Are Chic
For grace and beauty in a home, try granite or marble countertops. They’re quite elegant.
“If you want to do some upgrading around your house to give it a more elegant, natural look that appeals to potential buyers, you might want to consider marble or granite countertops. They add a whole lot of ‘awesome’ to make a drab room come alive,” said Dean Dupre who runs Champion Tile, a Clearwater Flooring, Tampa Flooring, and tile installation company.
Most often, granite and marble countertops are used in washrooms because of its durability and wide range of colors and styles. However, they are installed in kitchens as well. In some ways the wide selection tends to be fairly confusing to first time buyers, but the easy way to approach choosing a stone is to first decide what color the bathroom should be. “Proceed from there, and you will get precisely what you want,” suggested Dupre.
“Let’s say you are leaning toward a granite countertop for the bathroom. That’s a good choice, because the colors for bathrooms are generally softer – at least that’s what the latest trend happens to be. So if you want a softer color in the bathroom, intensity will be an issue for you. You’d likely want white, beige or other more muted choices,” Dupre added.
Just because the trend happens to be softer tones for the bathroom doesn’t mean that everyone should or would follow the trend. This is where the “other” colors come into play; the greens, browns, blacks, reds and burgundies. “If you want pizzazz in your bathroom, these colors would do it for you,” he explained. Perhaps the most interesting thing about marble as an alternative choice is the – well, marbling and flecking, which tends to add atmosphere to any room.
For a really outstanding and unusual look for a bathroom, consider black and white granite and throw in some really unusual fixtures – say brass or dark antiqued taps. The end result can be totally sensational. “If black and white is a bit too racy, then perhaps stick with the more conventional choices of green granite with roses and blues. One thing is for sure, you can’t go wrong with natural stone in your bathroom, or your kitchen for that matter,” suggested Dean Dupre who owns Champion Tile, a Clearwater Flooring, Tampa Flooring, and tile installation company.
